To contribute to the improvement of disability, health and welfare research by dispatching Japanese researchers to foreign universities and research institutes to conduct research on the health and welfare of disabled persons.
Japanese researchers recommended by principal researchers and associate researchers under the Promotion Program for Comprehensive Research on Disability, Health and Welfare.
The researchers will be dispatched overseas for a period of approximately six months, sometime between April 1, 2005 and March 31, 2006. In cases for which this would be difficult, the applicants are asked to clearly write the reasons why on the appropriate section of the application form.
¦@Note: Dispatches spanning two fiscal years may be approved. Any such applicants should inquire beforehand. Please note that in such cases, if the program is abandoned before the scheduled completion of the overseas postings, the overseas postings will also end at that time.
A. Posting Travel Expenses
Airfare, domestic transportation fees, lodging charges, per diem expenses, etc.
B. Living Expenses
JSRPD will pay appropriate living expenses, in accordance with our payment standards and within the range of our budget, giving due consideration to ensure that the amounts shall be sufficient for the researchers' living expenses.
C. Research Expenses
JSRPD will provide up to \3 million per researcher in research expenses, in accordance with our payment standards and within the range of our budget, giving due consideration to ensure that the researchers are sufficiently funded for the duration of their posting.
D. Overseas Travel Insurance
Researchers are asked to take out travel insurance policies under their own responsibility; the insurance premiums will be borne by JSRPD.
¦@Note: All of the above expenses shall be paid in accordance with JSRPDfs standards.
1) Applicants must be principal researchers under the Promotion Program for Comprehensive Research on Disability, Health and Welfare.
2) The Japanese researchers who desire to be posted abroad must be researchers who work at the same research institutes together with principal researchers or associate researchers under the program.
3) The Japanese researchers who desire to be posted abroad must have the approval from the director of the institute where they are employed.
4) The Japanese researchers who desire to be posted abroad must have a letter of invitation from the foreign research institute that will host them.
5) The Japanese researchers who desire to be posted abroad are responsible for any procedures related to the posting, such as acquiring visas.
1) Japanese researchers must submit a gResearch Results Report,h gAccounts Settlement Statementh and other documents to JSRPD within one month after the completion of their overseas postings.
2) In principle, the research results will be the property of JSRPD.
Principal researchers who wish to dispatch Japanese researchers abroad (this includes the desires of their associate researchers) are asked to complete the prescribed application form and submit it to JSRPD by conventional mail or in person.
